Sanjay is a core member of the team and is proud of the world class results obtained by the team. The team specialise in removal of cancers from difficult areas including the skull base and craniofacial resections combined with the neurosurgical team. The reconstruction involves harvesting hard and soft tissue and then transferring this tissue to the new area to provide a functional and aesthetic reconstruction. The success rates for complex microvascular free tissue transfer over the past 4 years (audited July 2019) is 99.6%.

The video above shows the bony resection of a jaw to remove a cancer and the planning of the reconstruction which involves using the fibula bone in the leg which is harvested together with its artery and veins and then shaped and fixed to form the new jaw and the vessels joined to arteries and veins in the neck so the new tissue has its own blood supply.
